Q. How long does the service last?
A. Our main Sunday service (with music) usually lasts about an hour. On special occasions it may run a little longer. Our spoken services usually last about 45 minutes.
Q. Will I stand out if I don't know all the words?
A. No one will look at you strangely if you don't know all the words of the prayers and hymns, or if you choose not to do what others are doing at any point in the service. We have done our best to make our service leaflet a complete guide both for old and new members.
Q. Can I receive communion?
A. Yes, we believe that the altar belongs to God and not to us. All baptized people are welcome to receive the Holy Eucharist in both kinds (bread and wine) or bread alone. Those who do not wish to receive, or feel they cannot, are invited to come for a blessing instead.
Q. Are children welcome?
A. We welcome all of God's people, regardless of age. Children are quite welcome to stay with their parents in church, and there are some child friendly activities located on a bookcase in the back of the church.
Q. Will I be asked for money, or put on the spot if I don't have any to give?
A. No. We believe that contributing to the work of the church - in time, talent, and money - is part of our faithful response to the goodness of God, but it is NOT an admission ticket to worship. No one will question what you do or don't put in the collection plate.
